Open Water Fitness Sessions at Stubbers Lake
7am to 08:45am Every Saturday 26th April – 27th September 2025
We have improved access and egress from the lake by moving the open water swimming to the Coys lake beach in the main adventure park.
For operational reasons swimmings will need to be clear of the water by 08:45 not 09:00 as previously advertised
Access will be through the Welcome centre. Please note that adult visitors with
out a swim booking will not be admitted to the park without payment of an admission fee (payable on entry)
Our fitness requirements
Open water fitness sessions are an un-coached, unled session that allows you to practice your open-water swimming at your own pace, completing as many laps of the lake as you like within the times specified. The sessions are for swimmers who are confident and competent swimming in open-water. You will need to be able to swim 500m without stopping. Swimmers unable to demonstrate a safe level of swimming competency will be removed from the session without refund.
Swimmers must be aged 18 years or over. Professional swim coaches are welcome to call us to discuss bringing younger students.
Children
This session is not suitable for children.
Safety First
You must wear a wetsuit (Stubbers do not loan wetsuits). To assist us with safety monitoring, you will also need to wear a brightly coloured swim hat. Stubbers will have hats for sale on the day. Swim floats are recommended.
All swimmers will be checked in and out of the water at a single access point using wristbands to identify individuals.
Safety spotters will be on the lake on paddle boards, kayaks and rescue motorboat.
Amenities
Male / Female changing area is at the beach. A shower and toilet block are available in the park
The Source Coffee shop will be open from 0800 for hot and cold drinks and snacks including bacon and sausage butties. Card only please.
Registration
Main gate opens at 6:45 am.
Booking
Bookings in advance please (see below). If you can not attend your session, please cancel your booking giving the system 24 hours notice so someone else can take your place. If you do not turn up or cancel giving less than 24 hours notice for your pre booked session, you will lose your session.

Took the kids there without booking in advance, arrived and easily booked in for the climbing and archery. The staff were all extremely helpful and great with kids.
Sarah Jones, Trip Advisor
We always have a brilliant time with our lads and ladies who have disabilities here. The staff are great. We enjoyed ourselves out on the sailing boats this time. The 4x4 driving is usually a big hit here.
Ryan Horsecraft, Facebook
Great place for families and groups to enjoy outdoor activities such as climbing, off road driving, canoeing, jet skiing, sailing, laser tag and loads more. The staff are always very willing to help out.
