Thanks to the Veolia Environmental Trust Stubbers is a whole lot bigger, better and even more adventurous!
We’ve hardly been able to contain our excitement over the last few months, so it feels great to finally tell you about some of the new adventures and massive improvements we have built for you in 2021
Earlier in 2020 the Stubbers Adventure Centre Charity was awarded £1million in funding support from The Veolia Environmental Trust to invest in new outdoor leisure facilities for the local community.
As well as bringing our visitors better hospitality and brand new facilities, we used the shutdown periods to create exciting new adventures on land, water and even underground.
If you’re bursting at the seams to make up for lost time in nature, then we’re doing our bit to bring you more ways than ever to get your adventure on.
Our new artificial cave system is one of the largest in the South East! Built with painstaking attention to detail to make you feel like you’re deep underground in a natural network of tunnels. And, for those feeling a little apprehensive, there is a ‘mini cave’ just opposite that you can try out for size.
Descending into 160 metres of hyper-realistic artificial caves set into our hillside, you’ll navigate through a labyrinth of tunnels to make all kinds of hidden discoveries. As you clamber and squeeze through narrow rocky sections and emerge in three main chambers, you’ll come across paintings, fossils and other underground unknowns along the way!
while the Covid risk is high the artificial caving system has limited availability but we hope to be able provide Queue and Go sessions to our General Admission Guests at weekends and during holidays from the beginning of October from £ 8 per head
Nestled among lush grassy mounds, our new Adventure Play Park spans three areas where kids are free to roam over wobble belt bridges, domes, scramble nets and so much more!
The area includes three main log climbing structures made from chemical-free timber, each designed with different age groups in mind to make sure that our adventures cater for young children, right through to teenagers and even the parents ! For cooling-off after all that climbing, we have provided wooden pagodas with seating in the shade or a retreat from the rain.
We’re as passionate about the environment as you are. That’s why every element of the design includes natural elements wherever possible.
Designed to bring kids closer to nature, our new Discovery Trail leads you through our beautiful grounds and let children explore at their own pace.
Surrounded by lakes and woodland, you’ll find structures to climb, secret dens and fairy houses hidden in the woods, sculptures and idyllic spots to stop for picnics.
There will be plenty of play and photo opportunities along the way, so don’t forget to share your adventure on Instagram!
Ideal for those who prefer calmer waters, we have converted one of our smaller lakes to make it the perfect place for the whole family to take a gentle cruise in one of our pedalos. Choose from a giant Swan, FLamingo or Dragon !
To accommodate more guests excited to try all our new adventures the Veolia Environmental Trust grant has enabled us to givie our car park a much-needed makeover, with a new surface and 125 new spaces. So with our 80 car overflow car park you will have no trouble parking.
With views across Russell’s Lake, The Lookout Café will serve drinks and snacks from a kiosk.
Opening out onto a decked terrace with seating sheltered from the wind, it’s set to be the perfect spot for watching the sunset over the water.
Due to its location in the Car Park area use of the Lookout will not require paying for a General Admission ticket so ideal as a reward at the end of a good walk across Cranham Marsh. Dogs will be welcome at the Look out.
Update: Due to technical challenges the Lookout is currently still under construction and is expected to be completed by the end of October 2021.
Modern, light and cosy and perfectly situated next to the boating pond, The Boathouse is the perfect environment for an office away day, meetings, and private bookings.
THE SOURCE COFFEE SHOP: CAFFEINE BEFORE ADRENALINE
The Source serves delicious snacks and coffee, but with some major improvements to the building.
The Source Coffee Shop has an easy ramp access (with no lip or sill to negotiate at the entrance), new toilets and customer-only seating on the terrace.
Took the kids there without booking in advance, arrived and easily booked in for the climbing and archery. The staff were all extremely helpful and great with kids.

We always have a brilliant time with our lads and ladies who have disabilities here. The staff are great. We enjoyed ourselves out on the sailing boats this time. The 4x4 driving is usually a big hit here.
Ryan Horsecraft, Facebook
Great place for families and groups to enjoy outdoor activities such as climbing, off road driving, canoeing, jet skiing, sailing, laser tag and loads more. The staff are always very willing to help out.
